Presentation Summary:
Dave Thomas and Brian Dahm will be discussing the Dallas County Records Building Complex renovation and addition. The project includes the renovation of the 10 story Criminal Courts, Records, and Annex Buildings by demolishing and rebuilding the misaligned upper structural floors to align with a common datum while preserving the historic facade. Temporary exterior buttresses cantilevered off of the 4th floor of the Annex building to brace the 42 feet of façade above and allow demolishing and rebuilding the floors above in one continuous operation. The Criminal Courts was designed to repair poor quality 100-year-old concrete and to replace and realign the upper floors from the roof down to allow early mechanical penthouse operation.
