Presentation Summary:
SoFi Stadium, located inside the brand-new Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California, is the newest large-scale, stand-out venue to be constructed in the US. The state-of-the-art home of the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers is the largest indoor-outdoor stadium in the NFL at 3.1 million sq. ft. and will be the centerpiece of the world-class sports and entertainment destination being built by Los Angeles Rams Owner and Chairman, E. Stanley Kroenke. SoFi Stadium was the host for Super Bowl LVI this previous February and will also host the College Football National Championships in 2023 as well as the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 2028 Summer Olympics. This presentation will provide an overview of the project including a brief history of the stadium development, structural innovations used, and unique challenges overcome by the project team.
About the Speakers:
Justin Farr is a Principal and Senior Project Manager located in the Dallas office of Walter P Moore. He was the Project Manager for the WPM Bowl Team at SoFi Stadium. Justin has worked on a variety of Sports projects as far away as the Mosaic Stadium in Saskatchewan to local work such as the major renovations of the TCU Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth. He has also worked in various other markets including Performing Arts, Hospitality, Healthcare, and Education. Justin has over 20 years of experience and joined Walter P Moore in 2007. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and his Masters degree in Structural Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station.
